Musicians of St. Clare to highlight
International Festival of Music and Art
in Rome, November 2009

Pilgrims invited to accompany the choir

The Musicians of St. Clare have been invited to perform during the 8th International Festival of Music and Sacred Art in November of 2009. This year's festival will honor His Holiness Pope John Paul II.

The tour, which runs from November 16-22, also includes an optional extension in Assisi from November 22-25.

During the festival, the choir will perform an a cappella concert of Renaissance polyphony and contemporary works in the Roman church of St. Ignatius. We have also been invited to sing a full Gregorian chant Mass in St. Peter's Basilica for the Solemnity of Christ the King on Sunday, November 22.

In Assisi, the choir will sing vespers with the Poor Clare nuns at the Basilica of St. Clare on November 24.

There will be ample oppportunities to sightsee in both Rome and Assisi. Several guided tours are also scheduled. Click here to download a PDF of the pilgrimage brochure.

The Musicians of Saint Clare are an independent, ecumenical, international touring ensemble specializing in the performance of Renaissance polyphony and Gregorian Chant.

The choir typically sings four concerts yearly in the Denver area and tours nationally and internationally every two years, on average. The choir regularly receives invitations to participate in liturgical celebrations.
